About The Médoc & This Wine Tasting
The Médoc Peninsula, part of the Bordeaux wine region, is home to some of the world’s most prestigious wineries.
This tasting features a wine from each appellation of The Médoc: Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, Margaux, Listrac, Moulis, Haut-Médoc and Médoc.
With the Médoc and Haut-Médoc appellations, get ready to dive into the distinctive world of Cabernet Sauvignon-led blends cultivated in the gravelly soils of the region.
When we head over to Listrac and Moulis, you're in for a treat with wines that offer amazing bang for your buck. These gems aren't just tasty and budget-friendly; they're also the kind you can pop open and enjoy right away, no need to wait around like some of those larger Médoc appellations.
And after that, we're going on a journey through the taste variations from north to south.
From the clay-dominant soils of St-Estephe, get ready for a wine that's got a solid backbone but is also packed with a higher dose of Merlot fruitiness. These bottles can age like champs and are a steal during the hotter years.
In Pauillac, smack in the middle of Médoc's gravelly terrain, you're in for a ride with some seriously concentrated black fruit, propped up by firm tannins.
As you make your way towards Margaux through St-Julien, watch how the wines ease up and get more refined. Margaux, in particular, is all about those smooth tannins and a delightful mix of flowery and perfumed aromas. It's like wine elegance in full bloom!
The buffet style food, curated to pair beautifully with the wine selection, will include:
