The Reynvaan “In The Hills” Syrah 2019 captures the distinctive balance that has made Washington State one of the most exciting regions in the world for Syrah. Long, hot, sun-filled summer days build deep concentration and dark fruit intensity, while dramatically cool nights preserve freshness and lift.
“In The Hills” is sourced from Reynvaan’s Foothills in the Sun Vineyard, one of the highest sites in the Walla Walla Valley at 1,600 feet elevation. Here, temperature swings during the growing season can reach as much as 50 degrees Fahrenheit between day and night, locking in vibrant acidity, structure, and aromatic precision.
This is Syrah in a more elegant, earth-driven style, reminiscent of the Northern Rhone, yet unmistakably Washington in its depth and purity of fruit. Expect layered aromas of blackberry, plum, cracked black pepper, violets, and savory herbs. The palate shows energy and tension, with refined tannins and a long, expressive finish.

Washington State Syrah stands among the finest expressions of the grape anywhere in the world, offering a rare combination of New World ripeness and Old World structure. Within Washington, the Walla Walla Valley has emerged as a benchmark region for world-class red wines.
Reynvaan’s “In The Hills” exemplifies the more restrained and terroir-driven side of Walla Walla Syrah. Its high-elevation fruit, dramatic diurnal shifts, and balance of fruit intensity with earthy complexity make it a modern classic, a wine that bridges continents in style while remaining firmly rooted in its remarkable vineyard site.
