This seminar offers an in-depth look at Spanish wine through the lens of Grandes Pagos de España, with a focus on terroir-driven, single-vineyard wines that showcase some of Spain's most distinguished terroirs. We will explore the current state of the Spanish wine industry, including the impact of climate change, advancements in winemaking, and the emergence of new styles and grape varieties.
Led by Master of Wine Dilek Caner, the seminar will include a tasting of 35 wines, featuring flagship selections from renowned wineries like Aalto, Abadia Retuerta, and Dehesa del Carrizal, as well as wines from lesser-known Spanish varieties and regions rarely found in the US.
Following Dilek's session and lunch, Adolfo will lead a detailed seminar on Vallegarcía Vino de Pago, offering insights into this unique designation. The event will conclude with a walk-around tasting of the remaining wines. You have the option to attend all three sessions or select the one that interests you most.
Lunch will be provided for a comfortable experience throughout the seminar. This event is complimentary for the wine trade, hospitality industry, and advanced WSET students. It is designed as an educational opportunity focused on sharing knowledge, not promoting products.
